About Tmc
Come as you are. Discover healing. Live your purpose
At The Ministry Church, we believe the love of God has no limits. We are a Spirit-led, open, affirming, and inclusive community where people are welcomed, healed, and empowered to restore dignity, rebuild community, and embody God’s love and justice in Richmond and beyond.

Many people today carry deep wounds from life, from injustice, and sometimes even from the church itself. The Ministry Church exists to be a place where people can belong, heal, grow, and live fully into the purpose God has placed within them.

We believe the church should be more than a building or a Sunday gathering. It should be a living community of faith where people encounter God, support one another, and work together to transform the world around them.

Here, you will find a community committed to authentic worship, spiritual growth, healing, justice, and love in action.
Mission Statement
The Ministry Church is a Spirit-led, open, affirming, and inclusive community where people are welcomed, healed, and empowered to restore dignity, rebuild community, and embody God’s love and justice in Richmond and beyond.

Vision Statement
“We are called to re-member the dismantled body of Christ—healing what has been broken, restoring hope where it has been lost, and uniting all God’s children at one table.”

Core Values

-
Open, Affirming & Inclusive
Everyone belongs at God’s table.

We celebrate the full diversity of God’s creation and welcome people of every race, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, and life story. Here, you are not merely tolerated, you are embraced as a beloved child of God.

-
Healing & Wholeness
Church should be a place where wounds can become testimonies.

Many people carry wounds from life and from the church itself. We create sacred spaces for healing, restoration, and spiritual growth so that people can become whole, free, and fully alive in Christ.

-
Re-Membering the Body
Restoring what has been broken or pushed aside.

The Body of Christ has been fractured by exclusion, injustice, and division. We are committed to re-membering the body, bringing people back together in love, dignity, and shared purpose.

-
Empowerment & Purpose
Every person has a calling.
We believe God has placed gifts, wisdom, and purpose in every person. Our community equips people to discover their calling and live boldly into the work God has given them to do.

-
Justice & Service
Faith must move beyond the walls of the church.
Inspired by Jesus’ proclamation of good news, liberation, and restoration, we work for justice, dignity, and healing in our communities. Our faith calls us to serve our neighbors and stand with those who are marginalized or oppressed.

-
Spirit-Led Worship
We follow where the Spirit leads.

Our worship is vibrant, authentic, and grounded in the movement of the Holy Spirit. Through prayer, music, preaching, and communion, we gather to encounter God and be transformed together.

Our Rhythm: Up · In · Out · Rest
At The Ministry Church, we follow the rhythm of Jesus’ life: connecting Up to God, growing In with one another, and reaching Out to our community. This monthly rhythm shapes the pace of our ministry and keeps us aligned with God’s rhythm of renewal and relationship.

UP — Worship & Word (1st Sundays)
We lift our hearts to God in worship, prayer, and communion. These gatherings draw us near to God and one another as we remember who we are and Whose we are.
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.” — Psalm 40:1

IN — Formation & Fellowship (2nd Sundays & Tuesdays)
We gather in circles, not rows — learning, healing, and growing together. Through Bible study, dialogue, and shared meals, we form authentic community grounded in love and truth.
Spiritual growth happens in community — where truth meets grace, and faith becomes lived experience.
OUT — Service & Solidarity (3rd Sundays)
We move beyond the walls to serve our neighbors and our city. Whether through The Ministry Church Café: A Table for All or other community partnerships, we live out the gospel by sharing food, dignity, and hope.

We don’t just talk about love — we put it on the table.

REST — Sabbath & Reflection (4th Sundays)
On the fourth Sunday of each month, The Ministry Church pauses for rest — not out of absence, but out of sacred intention.
We believe rest is a form of worship. In a world that demands constant doing, we choose to embody God’s rhythm of being. Rest restores our souls, strengthens our witness, and reminds us that ministry is sustained not by striving, but by grace.
During this time, our community is invited to:

-
Pray and reflect at home
-
Share a meal or walk with loved ones
-
Journal or listen for God’s still voice
-
Engage with our Virtual Reflection video online

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

Our Rhythm Keeps Us Whole
Together, Up · In · Out · Rest forms the heartbeat of The Ministry Church — a rhythm of renewal that keeps our life grounded, whole, and Spirit-led.
